Join us for the closing of our first exhibition, Phones Are Heavy with video work from our past event, A Light Interruption. This will be NEXT FRIDAY, January 31st 5-8 pm. The closing of this expanded exhibition features: Maya Buffett-Davis, Flora Wilds Masha Keryan, Hannah Rust, dani lopez, Amanda Sandlin, Ana González Barragán, Isabelle Higgins, Kai Bee, Adina Glickstein and Devon Narine-Singh.
There will be scholar talk, “Unpacking The Heaviness of Mediation”, to start the event with Phd Candidates in Media Studies at CU Boulder: Talia Aygun, Antoinette Kendrick and Charlie Dana, on a panel moderated by curator Rory Fitzgerald Bledsoe, discussing the impact of media technologies on current culture and society. What has shifted, where do we go from here? What are our concerns and what our palliatives? And what are the most pressing questions for their exciting research projects? This begins at 5 pm and will include a short Q&A. This is followed by an artist panel (moderated by the curator) with some of the artists from the exhibition, discussing their respective works, process and practice. There will be a reception to follow the panels from 6:30-8 pm.
