Space__Space

Space__Space is an independent experimental art space focusing on conceptual exhibitions and artists that contemplate current society and culture and create discourse on the legal borders emerging from advancing technologies. Space__Space aims to elevate underrepresented ideas, and emerging artists, while also showing established artists. Space__Space encourages experimentation and collaboration. And it hopes to create a broader conversation between Boulder, Colorado and other art worlds, via showing both local work and artists from geographically diverse regions. Exhibitions and programming are multi-modal and include: artist talks, performances, screenings, readings and scholar panels. Space__Space is directed and founded by Rory Fitzgerald Bledsoe.

Rory Fitzgerald Bledsoe (curator/director) has shown artistic work and performed at various galleries and institutions, including EFA Project Space, Flux Factory, and Distillery Gallery. She assistant-directed T+H Gallery, during its tenure in Boston and then founded and directed an experimental domestic gallery project, Space One Two One (SOTO). Before moving to Boulder, she completed an artist residency at Flux Factory (Queens, NY) where she also curated shows. Rory Fitzgerald Bledsoe lives in Boulder, Colorado, while teaching courses in the media studies department on digital culture and politics, surveillance studies, media history, remix cultures, and the legal gray areas produced by technology. She is currently a PhD candidate in Media Studies at CU and holds a J.D.
